Hounen Solar America, provides innovative solutions for the US and Internatinoal Solar Module manufacturing with a current focus in the American market. We are searching for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) in our Orangeburg, SC plant. This role plays a pivotal role in supporting Environmental Health & Safety operations within our manufacturing plant.
This role will be required to conduct regular inspections, generate health and safety assessment reports, ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to, and train employees on safety policies and practices. The EHS Specialist should possess detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations and demonstrate strong leadership skills, specifically motivating others to adhere to all health and safety policies and regulations.
Assist the EHS Manager in coordinating and implementing all areas of safety programs for their assigned locations/shifts.
Assist the EHS Manager in implementing, monitoring, and optimizing the environment. Safety, and health policies, practices, and procedures in compliance with governmental regulations including, Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
Conduct daily safety oversight, inspections, and audits of production lines.
Support the EHS team in developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and continuously improving Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Requirements.
Ensure equipment, production, and material processes do not pose a safety or health hazard to employees, work guests, and the public.
Verify the adequacy and safety of all proposed tools and equipment for work.
Train and run drills and exercises with workers on how to manage an emergency.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects.
Works independently, providing quality reports, analysis, and recommendations for Safety.
Daily interaction with managers and associates. Periodic interaction with local emergency response groups and regulatory agencies.
Experience with OSHA regulations.
High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum 1 year of previous EHS experience , required
Previous experiene in manufacturing environment, preferred
OSHA 10 / OSHA 30
First Aid/ CPR/ AED certified
